As the office managing partner, Rick brings a wealth of experience in owner-managed business, not-for-profit organizations and taxation.
Rick’s vision, attention to detail and commitment to quality are key factors in ensuring a high level of client satisfaction – along with the continued growth of the firm.

Rick attended the University of Alberta, where he received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1981. Shortly thereafter he started working with King & Company and received his CA designation in 1986. He became a Partner in 1996 and the Office Managing Partner in 2006.

Rick has previously been the treasurer of Terra Association, Alder Grove Community league and the Kinsmen Club of Edmonton.

In his spare time he enjoys golfing and cycling.

Shannon Troke, CPA, CA

As a partner, Shannon is dedicated to understanding our client’s needs and ensuring that all our resources are used to exceed expectations.
Shannon joined King & Company in 1999 and has extensive experience in not-for-profit organizations and owner-managed businesses. Shannon’s consistency and dedication to his work are an integral part of providing practical advice and client satisfaction. Shannon is currently responsible for many of our largest audit clients.

Shannon attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology where he received his Management Diploma, Accounting Diploma and Bachelor of Business Administration.

As current treasurer for the Valley Zoo Development Society, Shannon is a busy man, but does find time to play badminton, cycle and spend time with his family.

Chris Schulte, CPA, CA

As a partner, Chris is dedicated to building lasting relationships – a key component to client satisfaction and the future growth of the firm.

Chris joined King & Company in 2005 and is responsible for many of our large audit clients and owner managed businesses.

Chris is currently a Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee of the Bissell Centre. He also serves on the Finance Committee at the Windermere Golf Club and is Head Coach of his daughter’s hockey team.

Chris attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and received a Marketing Diploma. He then went on to attend the University of Lethbridge, where he received his Bachelor of Management.

When Chris is not working he enjoys spending time with his family. Other significant interests include hockey, golf and snowboarding.

As the firm’s office manager, Betty brings invaluable knowledge in the areas of accounting, administration and personal tax.
Betty has been with the firm for over thirty years and strives to provide quality and efficient services to our clients. She obtained her Business Administration diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1977.

Betty always likes to keep busy and in her spare time enjoys golfing, cooking and spending time with her family.

Brenda MacDonald, BBA

Brenda has been working with the firm as a senior accounting technician for more than thirty years and is dedicated to building and maintaining client relationships, while providing value wherever possible.
Brenda’s determination makes here a great problem solver and she always finishes what she starts. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island in 1979.

When Brenda is not working, she enjoys reading, walking and swimming.

Daniel is an accomplished accountant providing tax, assurance and advisory services to a wide range of clients. He is highly driven and diligent in all he does, generating the utmost confidence of those who work with him.
Daniel received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2006, obtained his CA designation in 2007 and his CPA designation in 2010.

In his spare time, Daniel enjoys hockey, skiing, hiking and spending time with his family. He is also a current member of the board of directors for the Leduc Linx Connect Center.

Sophie He, CPA, CGA

Sophie obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Economic Law from China in 2001. She has since obtained both an Accounting Diploma and Finance Diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Sophie has been working in public practice for 10 years and is a welcome addition to the King & Company team.

In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, golf, hot yoga, zumba, cycling and movies.

Julie is a highly motivated and hardworking individual just starting her career at King & Company. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Mathematics from the University of Alberta in 2012 and is now enrolled in the CPA program.
In her spare time Julie enjoys hiking, baking, reading and playing tennis.

Sally is a vivacious and adept addition to the King & Co team. She received her Bachelor of Commerce in accounting from MacEwan University where she was awarded the Jason Lang Scholarship. She is currently enrolled in the CPA program.
Sally is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. When not hard at work, Sally enjoys hiking, snowboarding, hot yoga and travelling the world.

In his spare time, Jagdip enjoys reading, keeping up with current events, music and travelling.
